Tata Motors India has refreshed their SUV lineup with the new special edition. They are now constantly launching special editions one after another which keeps vehicles fresh and updated. Tata is calling their latest one “Red Dark Edition” which was first showcased with the Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari. Tata Nexon Red Dark Edition
The price of Tata Nexon Red Dark starts at Rs 12.35 Lakhs and goes up to 13.70 Lakhs, Ex-showroom. The all-new Red Dark Edition gets Oberon Black colour with red treatments on the front grille and the foglamp housings on the bumper. We saw the same colour on the Harrier and the Safari earlier this year at Delhi Auto-Expo 2023. In person, the colour looks blue under direct light and we like to call it kind of dark midnight blue. Additionally, 16-inch alloys are tastefully blacked out which enhances the overall side profile. Other than that the embossed chrome badges on the fenders are now written with red shades.
Meanwhile, interiors welcome you to a contrasting all Carnelian red seats and mostly black dashboard with some steel-like inserts. Sportier instincts are even carried onto the steering wheel with more use of red inserts. Unlike the Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari, the Tata Nexon does not get an updated touchscreen infotainment system. While we think this is a major feature missing as the other cars in the segment provide larger and more interactive displays. It is high time for Tata Nexon to get an improved touchscreen infotainment system. Smartphone connectivity, ventilated seats, wireless phone charging, an electric sunroof, and an air purifier, are the bonus feature additions.
The car is powered by the same 1.2L three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5L four-cylinder diesel engine. The petrol engine produces 120PS of power and 170NM of torque while the diesel counterpart generates 110PS of power and 260NM of torque. Tata Nexon can either be chosen with a 6-speed manual or an AMT transmission for both petrol and diesel engine. Now all the diesel engines comply with BS6 phase-2 norms, which makes Tata one of the few manufacturers still providing diesel as an option.
