New Honda City Hatchback Launched

Honda City has now officially launched in Thailand.

The much-awaited Honda City Hatchback has finally launched in Thailand. This hatchback is available in three different variants namely – S+, SV and RS which are priced at Baht 599,000 (Rs 14.62 lakh Approx.), Baht 675,000 (Rs 16.47 lakh approx.) and Baht 749,000 (Rs 18.28 lakh approx.) respectively. New Honda City hatchback has received a new rear profile and is almost similar to its sedan version till C-Pillar.

Detailing more about designing, this hatchback gets a sportier exterior designing, a chrome grille, 15-inch alloy wheels, LED tail-lamps and projector headlamps with LED DRLs. Side by side, it has gained some of the exciting interior features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and SIRI voice control system along with multi-functional steering wheel and automatic AC.

The biggest feature in this hatchback which will remain to be in limelight is its folding seat. The company has claimed it with 4 modes giving large rear luggage compartment as well. These 4 modes include Utility Mode, Long Mode, Tall Mode and the Refresh Mode.

In terms of powertrains, the company has equipped it with a 1.0-litre DOHC VTEC Turbo, 3-cylinder 12-valve engine which is also underpinned in the City Sedan RS in Malaysia. This engine can easily churn out 122 bhp of power and 173 Nm of peak torque which is paired with a CVT automatic gearbox and have a 23.3 kmpl of fuel efficiency.

On its safety side, the company has loaded it with 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability assist system, hill start assist, rearview camera, stability control system and many more. There are almost 6 paint scheme offered namely – Metallic Ignite Red (RS version only), Metallic Meteoroid Gray, Platinum White (RS Only), Crystal Black, Sonic Gray and Taffeta White.

Talking about the launch of Honda City Hatchback in India, then there are still no official claims about this by the company. If launched, then it could prove to be a costlier hatchback which will not sound economical for a few buyers in India.
