MG Motors India has launched the petrol CVT variant of its newly launched 2021 MG Hector Plus in the country. This variant has received a price tag of Rs 17.21 (ex-showroom, India). The new petrol CVT variant of 2021 MG Hector Plus is available in two trims namely Sharp and Smart with 6-seater version only. The MG Hector Plus CVT Petrol Sharp trim has been priced at Rs 18.89 lakh.
In terms of powertrains, the new 2021 MG Hector Plus is powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine. The new CVT automatic variants will now join the DCT models as well. This engine is well capable of producing 141 bhp of power and 250 Nm of peak torque. There are also two new modes with the CVT petrol variants namely eco-mode and Sport mode.
Side by side, there is also a 2.0-litre diesel engine option with this SUV which can produce 168 bhp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque and comes mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Talking about the new CVT option in the new 2021 MG Hector Plus then it is likely to give more convenience to the driver while driving on highways. It will now be more fuel-efficient and provide smoother drive as well. Currently, MG Hector Plus is competition very strong with the SUVs in the same lineup including Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV500, Hyundai Tucson and even Jeep Compass.
