Maruti Suzuki India Limited has updated the Zeta variant of their hatchback Ignis facelift with SmartPlay infotainment system. Only Alpha variant of this was previously available with this feature. The Ignis costs now Rs. 5.98 lakh for manual and Rs 6.45 lakh for AMT. (ex-showroom, Delhi). Now Zeta variant costs Rs 8,500 more because of the updated feature while the price of the base variant of Ignis remains intact – Rs 4.89 lakh.
The Ignis Zeta variant now got 7-inch SmartPlay touch screen infotainment. Previously it had a 2-DIN audio system. The added system is loaded with features like Andriod Auto and AppleCarPlay and can be found in all top variants of Maruti Suzuki cars. A SmartPlay studio app provides live traffic updates on the touchscreen which also has a very user-friendly interface.

This variant has always known as value-for-money product and it is position below the top variant – Alpha. Alloy wheels, chrome accent on the front grille, fog lamps, rear wiper, rear defogger, electrically folding ORVMs, four speakers and two tweeters are also available in this variant. Absent things are LED projector lights and DRLs, automatic climate control, puddle lamps and height-adjustable driver’s seat. There is an Rs 81,000 price difference between Alpha and Zeta manual variants and Rs 75,000 in AMT trims.
BS6 compliant 1.2-litre VVT petrol engines powers the Ignis which churns up to 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Five-speed manual and AMT options are available for transmission. Revised rear and front bumper, beefy skid plates, spoiler, new roof rails and a new chrome grille were added to Ignis facelift. The rivalry of Ignis is with Mahindra KUV100 NXT, Ford Figo and Hyundai Grand i10.
