The Renault Bigster has been caught testing in India again, sparking interest amongst SUV lovers. A fresh sighting of the Renault Bigster 7 Seater Spied prototype continues to suggest that Renault is preparing for a massive rebound in the Indian SUV segment. It will sit above the new-generation Renault Duster which is going to be launched on March 17, and you can check out our detailed walkaround of the SUV in the video below.
Alongside the Bigster and the new Duster, Renault has showcased the Renault Bridger – a new compact SUV that is expected to hit Indian market by 2027.
Spy photos of the Renault Bigster 7 Seater in heavy camouflage have already emerged. There are few styling hints that are still there, even with the coverings. The front end seems to implement Renault’s current design language, featuring a wide LED daytime running light band that spans all the way across the front. Separating the main headlamp units, which appear to sit a little lower than usual and lend an almost split-lighting arrangement to proceedings, gives the SUV a modern face.
Renault Bigster 7 Seater Spied: Key Styling And Exterior Details
The Renault Bigster 7 Seater Spied prototype sports proportions common for a large family SUV. Tall stance, squared-off body lines, and a long roofline imply the vehicle has been engineered for practicality with ample interior space.

The prototype features large alloy wheels, probably 19 inches in diameter, and strong wheel-arch cladding that contributes to the SUV’s rugged character. And the side profile also hints at a longer rear section to allow for that third row of seats. The design looks upright and practical from the back. A roof-mounted spoiler and vertically positioned tail lamps are visible through the camouflage; evidence of Renault’s intent to bold, rugged design with strong road presence.

Expected Features and Powertrain
While interior details were not visible, expect the Bigster to feature a cabin loaded with features for Indian buyers. Some of the expected features include a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless support, a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, keyless entry and rear AC vents. Higher variants are likely to get features like ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, premium sound system and ADAS as well.
On the mechanical side, the SUV will likely get a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine with ~163 PS and 280 Nm of torque paired to a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. We might then, see the other 1.8-litre E-Tech strong hybrid powertrain from Renault, designed to enhance fuel economy and allow electric driving at low speeds.
The Renault Bigster 7 Seater was recently spied testing on Indian roads and is expected to launch in India by late 2026 or early 2027 as a part of Renault’s strategy to solidify its position in the competitive SUV segment.
